Microsoft will open its Office 365 subscription program to customers starting December 20.
The software giant says that the first 30 customers who sign up through December 16 will get access to the trial on the same terms and conditions as existing customers.
The Office 365 service will run until December 21, 2019.
The trial will include two features: a “mobile office experience,” which will let people work from their laptops, tablets and smartphones; and a “cloud office experience” that lets people work remotely and collaborate in a more personal and collaborative way.
Microsoft is offering the Office 365 free trial for people who subscribe to Microsoft Office through the Microsoft Office app for the Windows 10 mobile operating system, Windows 10 Pro, and Windows 10 Enterprise.
The company also is offering its Office Online subscription, which includes a free trial.
Microsoft plans to expand its Office and OneDrive digital offerings to Office 365 customers in the next year.
“We’re committed to delivering the best products for our customers and the most powerful cloud computing solutions in the world, and we’re committed that this first wave of Office 365 subscriptions will be as powerful as the ones we have in place today,” Microsoft Chief Marketing Officer John R. Shoup said in a statement.
The move to expand Office 365’s customer base comes after the company announced that it was launching a Windows 10 app for Office 365, which will be free until December 31.
The app will allow people to access Office 365 on the web, on mobile devices and on desktops, and will also offer a variety of other features, including the ability to send files between devices.
