Microsoft has announced the Xbox Live Edition for Windows 10, which will include a new, simplified console that will be available as a Windows 10 “game console” that includes a “free” copy of Minecraft, as well as the Xbox One version of The Sims 4.
Xbox Live for Windows will also support SteamOS, as it does for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1.
The new console will be made available for pre-order starting on November 5.
The Xbox Live edition of Minecraft is available for purchase now.
Microsoft announced in January that it would launch a “Minecraft” gaming service on its Xbox consoles in March, though that service has not yet been officially announced.
Microsoft has already announced that the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft will launch with a free version, and Minecraft: Story Mode will be coming to the Xbox in April.
Microsoft has also said it plans to launch a PC version of the game in April, but has yet to reveal the date or platform.
Minecraft is available on Xbox One, Xbox 360, Xbox One S, Windows 10 PC, and Xbox One X. Microsoft said that it will make the Minecraft game available for Windows and Mac PCs as well.
Microsoft’s Minecraft game for Xbox One has not been announced yet, but it’s possible that the console will support Linux support as well, as the developer recently stated that it plans on adding Linux support for Minecraft on the Xbox.
Microsoft also plans to expand Minecraft’s catalog of mods to include the new Minecraft: Pocket Edition.
Microsoft’s Minecraft Pocket Edition is a free download for Xbox 360 and Windows PCs.
